<br />The Federal Government has no right to compel its citizens to buy health insurance.  Interstate commerce clause my ass.  Voters have far more control over the local and state level government than they do of the federal government.  The states can choose what they want to do, the financial burden is on them as a state, *not* the rest of the country.  Federal overreach is despicable.</p>

So thereby the people should have a  say whether they  want to  or not  by  consulting  their  Congressmen-Representatives and  Senators.  Lately  many of  our Presidents  have  been  disobedient to the  Constitution and  have declared war without  the vote of  Congress.<br />

I&#8217;m curious why the far left continue to call for Bush to be put trial for war crimes when so far Obama has authorized bombings in 6 different countries all being Muslim. Now Obama has went as far to Authorize air strikes on Libya without consulting congress and it clearly goes against our constitution. So should Obama be arrested and held for trial on war crimes?<br />
<br />US is already violating resolution 1973 by arming the rebels through Egypt.</p>
<p>Killing Gaddafi would be a war crime because it clearly qualifies as an act of “treachery” under Article 23 of the Hague Convention IV of 1907. Even in times of declared war, assassinating a leader under false pretenses is illegal.</p>
<p>Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, French President Nicolas Sarkozy, and British Prime Minister David Cameron have all gone on record to state that Gaddafi “must go,” “needs to go,” and has “lost his legitimacy”. The targeted bomb strikes on his compound confirm this detail</p>
<p>Since the assault was launched under UN auspices with the presumed “legitimacy” of the international community, it directly violates the UN’s own charter in that the entire scope of the mission is about regime change, supporting one side in a civil war, and has nothing whatsoever to do with “protecting civilians”.</p>
<p>As Commander in Chief he is also responsible for the US Army &#8216;kill team&#8217; in Afghanistan who posed for photos of murdered civilians for sport </p>
<p>War is Illegal</p>
<p>&quot;All Members shall settle their international disputes by peaceful means in such a manner that international peace and security, and justice, are not endangered. </p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I&#8217;m not very politic savvy. I&#8217;m trying to educate myself and become more aware of what&#8217;s going on around me. So I ask this question because I&#8217;m curious, not to be a smart-ass. The President is our leader, then why does he even have to consult republicans about the tax-cuts. Why can&#8217;t he just say &quot;I&#8217;m commander in chief and what I say goes!&quot; Why do the republicans have any leverage at all?<br />
<br />As others say, we have a tripartite system &#8211; a President, a congress and the legislative or justice system.</p>
<p>In theory, congress initiates legislation, and the president can either veto it or sign into law.</p>
<p>However, in practice, the president has power because he is the focal point for fund raising, has an incredibly powerful administration, has been given a lot of power from congress to do all kinds of things, and often congress wins their seats by siding with the president. This is especially true if the president reflects the views of the power structure in society, which is dominated by corporations and the wealthy (in my opinion). If the president says something, like, &#8216;Let&#8217;s go invade Iraq and sell of it&#8217;s oil to European companies&#8217;, congress will go along not simply because they fear the president, but because the fear the oil money he is representing. </p>
<p>That is why conservative, war mongering presidents that support big corporations, oil, defense contracts have so much power. In fact, presidents so routinely submit budgets through their friends in congress, that people call such legislation &#8216;the Presidential Budget&#8217;. You hear all the time of &#8216;The President&#8217;s bill&#8217; like war authorizations and the like. </p>
<p>But in Obama&#8217;s case, he does not represent the war and corporate interests as much as, say Bush, and so even though he had a majority in congress, there was a coalition of Republicans and conservative democrats that blocked and perverted his legislation. Every bill was a compromise. </p>
<p>Nonetheless, he did get a lot accomplished (see polifact.org).</p>

<p>It is interesting that when presidents get into trouble they often quote Lincoln?!  I have even read and heard how George Walker Bush is now being compared to Lincoln.  The comparison between Lincoln&#8217;s constitutional violations versus Bush&#8217;s PATRIOT ACT is indeed disconcerting.  Violating the Constitution and the Bill of Rights by both these presidents can only be measured by the outside influences of the international bankers and the multinational corporations.  In defense of Lincoln, it was he that opposed the Reconstruction policies by the radical Republicans of the north.  Bush on the other hand has sold the American people lock stock and barrel to the globalists;  the very same international financiers and multinational corporations that confronted Lincoln.  We know what happened to Lincoln.  What will become of Bush?</p>
