Do you notice that there are more black political consultants on TV since Obama’s election on CNN, MSNBC, FOX?

Why is that?

Let us discuss this without negative racial overtones. But it is a mathematical fact, that there are more Black people on these news shows. Why is that? I don’t understand.

Are they actively trying to showcase black professional political analysts/operatives?

If that’s true, it’s great. Empowerment is what all downtrodden minorities need to give them a sense of self-worth. If they see they have more of a political and public voice, they are more likely to direct their energies that way, and less likely to take out their frustration at being unheard in street crime, vandalism, etc.

Actually- I have… And I’m not surprised… I HAVE the "feeling" -that Obama’s "appearance on the National Scene" – has improved the hiring "Opportunities" for minorities (and NOT just Blacks- either) in the Media… The fact IS, a LOT MORE people of ALL Different Colors are watching the News these days… -& I think the Media is trying to adapt to this Change- by showcasing it in their OWN staff & Operatives… Certainly this is a GOOD Idea, and one that’s as LONG "overdue" -as the passing of the all male "white bread" constituency- of the last Administration! :)References :

It’s not like these people didn’t exist it’s simply that they are now getting more airtime. The networks probably feel that they need a more diversified line up to keep the more diversified viewers.

There are now more black people thinking that things are possible for them and you will see more black people running for office, whether it is for the local city council, mayor, senate, or governors offices.References :
